Adduction Channels

Hydraulic Works: Adduction channels

Adduction channels are systems for the transport and distribution of raw (untreated) water such as river crossings and conduction channels for energy generation. Our solutions help in waterproofing and transporting this valuable asset.

Hydraulic Works: Adduction channels.

Description

Adduction channels are systems for the transport and distribution of raw (untreated) water such as river crossings and conduction channels for energy generation.

In these applications, Aquamat reinforced geomembranes are used to waterproof the channels, preventing water loss as much as possible during their conduction. The concrete-filled StrataWeb geocell is used for mechanical protection and against UV exposure of Aquamat geomembranes, ensuring waterproofing throughout the life of the work.

Operation

Resistant waterproofing: Aquamat is an innovative reinforced geomembrane that offers exceptional mechanical strength, great flexibility and lightness combined with very low permeability coefficients, presenting superior performance than traditional HDPE geomembranes.

Effective protection: StrataWeb geocells are supplied in closed panels that are quickly and simply opened at the job site with an accordion, after the StrataWeb is anchored in channels at the top of the slopes. The filling of the cells, which function as molds, is done effectively, finishing the channel coating process.

Features

- Eliminates the loss of water by infiltration in the channel.

- Both materials (Aquamat and StrataWeb) are made of high density polyethylene (100% virgin HDPE) with high mechanical resistance and chemical, biological and UV degradation.

- Easy fabrication of prefabricated panels, reducing welds on site.

- Maintains more than 90% of the mechanical strength after 2,000h of UV exposure and more than 50% after 10,000h of exposure.

- StrataWeb walls have a unique roughness pattern and perforations in order to maximize the efficiency of confining the infill material.

- When filled with concrete, StrataWeb does not require expansion joints.
